Why Our Technology Is Different
Compressor Cooling for Stable Cigar Storage
Most small humidors use thermoelectric cooling. Thermoelectric cooling can become less effective as ambient temperatures rise, particularly when used for larger-capacity storage cabinets. A Peltier chip can only drop 8–10°C below ambient. On a 35°C summer day, your cigars sit at 27°C. Such conditions can make it more difficult to maintain the stable temperature recommended for long-term cigar storage.
The BALANS uses compressor cooling to provide reliable temperature control for the BX-108, maintaining an adjustable range of 16–22°C (61–72°F).
Evaporative Humidification
Unlike ultrasonic humidifiers, which can produce visible droplets or localized moisture when improperly sized or positioned, the BALANS evaporative membrane system gradually distributes moisture through the airflow without producing visible mist. This helps create a more consistent humidity environment throughout the cabinet.
Our system uses an evaporative membrane. A silent fan pulls air across a saturated film, releasing humidity as invisible vapor — the way a forest floor works. No droplets.
Solid Spanish Cedar Interior
Some cabinets use thin cedar panels over engineered wood. The BALANS is designed to provide a dedicated cigar-storage environment with carefully selected interior materials. Spanish cedar is hygroscopic: it absorbs and releases moisture, acting as a natural humidity buffer.
Depending on the chosen configuration, BALANS is available with either an aluminum or a Spanish cedar interior. The Spanish cedar version is designed specifically for collectors who prefer the traditional material for cigar storage—one prized for its natural humidity-regulating properties.
Dual Air Circulation
A single fan creates a loop: top to bottom, same path, same air. The corners sit still. Humidity stratifies. Temperature layers.
We install two fans — one base-mounted pushing air upward through the shelving, one side-mounted creating cross-flow.
The dual-fan circulation system is designed to reduce stagnant-air areas and minimize temperature and humidity differences throughout the cabinet.
This helps provide a more consistent storage environment from the upper shelves to the lower compartments.

With 475L of capacity, the BALANS BXW-608 stores 2,880–3,980 cigars. Its cedar interior, smart climate control, and efficient circulation help maintain freshness, while the glass door adds a refined display.

Refill frequency depends on ambient humidity, room temperature, target RH and door-opening frequency. Under typical conditions, the water tank may require refilling every 2–6 weeks. Monitor the digital display and refill when the low-water warning appears.
